Ironman World Championship 70.3 at Henderson Pavilion

This year, the City of Henderson played host to the Ironman World Championship for the first time, welcoming the Marine Corps Ironman World Championship 70.3. An Ironman competition consists of a three part race involving swimming, cycling and then a foot race to the finish line.

The race took place September 11 and two winners were crowned at the finish line, housed at our Henderson Pavilion: Craig Alexander from Australia in the men’s division and Melissa Rollison, also from Australia, in the women’s division.

The City of Henderson has been selected as the home for the Marine Corps Ironman World Championship 70.3 for the next four years, with next year’s date already scheduled as September 9, 2012.

We would like to thank all of the participants, organizers and the fans that helped make this inaugural year a great success. We hope that you join us again during our future years of hosting this competitive event.
